Americans have been encouraged to exercise by their leaders dating way back to Ben Franklin.  Exercising in a group with a specific format, taught by an instructor, is a more recent function of our culture.  The foundation of group exercise started in the early 70’s with Jazzercise® and later included other formats such as STEP.

Fast forward nearly five decades – group exercise programs offer variety, challenge and excitement!  More than two out of five (43%) health club members participate in group exercise, according to the IHRSA Health Club Consumer Report. This amounts to roughly 22.1 million members!

Group Exercise is a big part of the Century Fitness member experience, and we continue to grow with updates to our class formats.  Our awesome Group Exercise Leaders are constantly working on their craft to provide safe, effective, and fun classes. We also added LES MILLS Virtual to increase the availability of the program.  Click here to learn about LES MILLS™ Virtual

So, if you never stepped foot in our Group Exercise Room for a class you are missing a lot (including the special shock absorbing floor…pun intended!).  Our Group exercisers get an instructor that leads and monitors them. These leaders make class exciting every time.  You don’t need to figure out a workout on your own, they do it for you.  Between the talented leadership, the variety of exercise and the encouragement of the group effect, your workouts can be the best ever!  Click here to check out our current Group Exercise Schedule
