Working It Out Together – Weather-watch & workout tips
Winter has fully arrived, and we need to be prepared for anything. Sure, we are tough New Englanders and we don’t want severe winter weather keeping us from a good workout. There may be times, however, when a humongous snowstorm causes us to close early. If that happens, there will be a message on our phone and most likely on Facebook, too.
Here are a few ways to make our winter wonderland workouts more wondrous:
- Pull your vehicle (or dog sled) into the spot all the way, as close to the snowbank as possible
- Stomp off your shoes/boots on the entry mats and ideally have your sneakers separate
- Secure your coats and bags in a locked locker and never on the fitness floor
- Remember to still drink plenty of water before, during, and after workouts even if you’re not thirsty
- Warm up those cold muscles and joints a little longer than in the warm weather
- Arrive on time for classes knowing that some days travel might be slower due to road conditions
- When using the pool or whirlpool, or, shower after a good workout, please remember a towel so you can be nice and dry – this way icicles won’t form on you
- Winter is busy at any health club on earth, so be patient – CFit has plenty of equipment, tons of great classes and a talented staff to assist you
